Something a bit different, at least with the ED logo on the headstock.
There were a lot of experiments with materials and electronics by Japanese makers in the late 70's early 80's. These "plexiglass" editions popped up for just about all the popular body styles, and you can find them under a variety of labels. Some of them were quite spectacular looking! They mainly fed the "glam rock" performers because they looked "kewl" on stage in a smoke and light show, and wow, you could see right through it!
No idea if they sounded any good though.

I've always heard that the acrylic strats are as heavy as a boat anchor.
With apologies to the seller; that price is
ridiculous, and I have to say that it is.
The seller was asking $450 on the local classifieds in NB, and I thought the price was ridiculous then. Now it's $600 w/ a $1000 Buy It Now on the 'bay...
While I can...
sympathize with whatever motivation the seller might have... I believe they are asking Fender prices on a 70's copy, and I sincerely hope no one here actually pays that much for that guitar.

He may have also been given some crap advice.
I've seen a few situations where people take an El Degas to a tech to ask about its value and the tech, not knowing what he's looking at, says "I dunno, but the actual [Gibson/Fender/Martin] goes for $1000+ bucks, so maybe start there."

omg $20 000 !!! Are you f***ing kidding me? Sorry , but that's just a waste of ad space. I wouldn't even pay that for a 60's Les Paul that Jimmy Page signed himself. I wonder if the seller wonders why no one bought it. lol
