A very nice fellow from BC had his in-law who was heading out to Calgary-way bring it out for me... really gracious of both of them to do that.

She's a looker and a hell of a player - I expect the set up to be fun over the next week as the guitar acclimatizes but she's got really nice action.

First Explorer I've ever laid my hands on - it's amazing how ergonomic the design is despite how pointy it looks - the upper arm rests very nicely on the large upper 'point' and it sits on the lap very comfortably. And you also get to look like a bad-ass all at the same time

man that brings back some major memories....this guitar is almost identical to the second guitar i ever owned! right down to the washer on the strap button. I still remember how it felt to play, nice neck, sweet action and the body was like a well fitting glove. Like a foolish kid i pawned it off in Regina Sask. to go see Motorhead back in the 80's, roughly 87 or 88(good show though) and never had the dough to get it out. I remember the pick ups were hot..DiMarzio's. I peeled the stickers off em myself. To this day i think about that axe, wondering where it ended up on its journey, or who is the lucky one to have it...it was a great guitar and i often think it was "the one that slipped away" . Man even the dings on the body and headstock look like the guitar i lost! Ive owned more guitars then i have had girlfriends....couldn't hang on to either..I finally got the ones i'm gonna hang on to as well...love my women and love my lil collection i have now. So if you wanna part with this treasure, let a brother know!

She's not going anywhere for a while - I have plans for her. The Dimarzios are indeed very hot, so I might put in some Alnico II's in white/black zebra. Should look killer.

If I recall correctly, it was $375, and the guy had a family member deliver it to Calgary from B.C. I'd say I got a pretty good deal. Set neck, screaming Dimarzios, hardshell case.

Great looking guitar and one hell of a good deal you made there Charles....These are getting harder to find all the time...
