El Degas F175 bridge

Post by Georgeecorn »

I recently acquired an El Degas F175 guitar and have been loving the sound and feel of it. However, I've noticed that the bridge seems to be slightly raised on one side. I've tried adjusting the tension on the strings, but it doesn't seem to be making much of a difference. Has anyone else experienced this issue with their El Degas guitar? Any tips or tricks for fixing a raised bridge on an acoustic guitar? I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on how to resolve this issue. Thank you in advance for your help!

Re: El Degas F175 bridge question

Hello and welcome.
(This question should really be in a new topic post. Charles, could you do the honours please?)

Do you mean that the bridge itself is lifting?
Or, is it that the soundboard is "bellying up" and the bridge is rising up with it?

Those are two different problems with two different repairs, and without pictures it's hard to comment further.

And when you say "changing the tension" did you mean adjusting the truss rod? It's purpose is to correct the straightness of the neck not adjust action height.

I would also confirm that the neck has not developed a twist which would change the string action height.
