The things I can do with popsicle sticks.... dont get me started...

I forgot to take pictures before I started working on the guitar..Duh! but I am certain the Dag would see lots of improvements already... Just to show you what I meant with the popsicle stick, I did take a couple of pics just to catalogue the pups:

Do you see the 3 pieces of my popsicle stick(not placed properly on pic)... This is also a large-thick hobby popsicle style stick, that gave it just the right angle and height to make it playable. I will replace with a solid piece of maple to make it more stable. Will look at reenforcing the neck pocket with maybe adding another piece of maple behind the neck pocket brace.

Just checked out the restoration pics
Wow, what a project! You're a braver (and more resourceful) man than I
Nice work!
I started ElDegas.com many years ago to help celebrate and inform about El Degas instruments. It all started with a used Ric 4000 bass copy I bought in circa 2000.

El Degas stable as of 03/2022: 42  (13 bass, 26 electric, 3 acoustic)

Tnx charles. I picked it up for $40. Figure 'what the heck'.
Even if I destroy it, the parts could be used for some other
projects.

Good Lord!
I think I recall seeing this one on Kijiji or CL. That's just nasty!
You're on your way, and looks like you've at least got the right equipment which is half the battle.
Good luck!

You've got guts, I'll give you that! Definitely a worthy endeavor.

Nice!

Great work so far...... :D

Great to see that routing the neck pocket was a good solution. I only had to shim mine but will most likely go with the heat gun and routing myself... Keep posting your progress.

Cheers!
